A vestige of Bar Harbor’s fabled cottage era located just outside Acadia National Park, this Victorian cottage dates to the 1870s. Now fully restored, with two spacious bedrooms and two full baths, the Gardener’s Cottage is open to guests year round.
Take a nap in the soothing master suite, or soak in the clawfoot tub.
Relax with a cup of coffee, a slice of blueberry pie, and a book or two.
Sip a glass of wine while you prepare fresh Maine produce and lobster or scallops just off the boat.
Or just stroll down Main Street to enjoy one of Bar Harbor’s many restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, or bakeries.
It’s an easy walk to Acadia’s Compass Harbor, but in season you can also hop on the free Island Explorer and hit the trails of Acadia by foot or bike. In the winter, be sure to bring your skis or snowshoes.
You can bring your canine companions, too.
Acadia National Park is an American treasure in every season. Come experience it for yourself.
The Gardener’s Cottage sits on a wooded acre in Bar Harbor, just a 10-minute walk from downtown and from Acadia National Park’s Compass Harbor.
A Victorian home that’s been renovated for the way we live now, the cottage has an open kitchen and living space that open onto the deck and backyard. It has two bedrooms and two full baths, including a master suite with a clawfoot tub and separate shower. The second bedroom has two double beds.
Outdoors, you can relax on the deck, drink wine while you grill lobster, play badminton with your family, or romp with your dog through the two acres of woods surrounding the cottage.
The off season is especially quiet and beautiful on Mount Desert Island. The Gardener’s Cottage is fully heated and is available year round. A freestanding propane stove adds cheer in the cooler months, and you’ll also find wifi, cable, and a selection of books, games, and puzzles.
Any time of year, we welcome you and your canine companions.
